I Come From A Land Down Under.

Well, we waved a sad goodbye to Hong Kong, but we were excited to get to Australia.  We are staying in Potts Point, which is a stones throw from Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the Sydney Opera House.  Our first day was spent walking through the Royal Botanical Gardens down to the harbour.

We decided to buy tickets to a show at the opera house for Friday night, so that should be fun.  After spending a month on the teeming streets of Hong Kong and Shanghai, Sydney seems like a ghost town, despite having a population of 4+ million.

Check out my Google+ page for more photos.

View from our apartment.  Sydney bridge is just out of view to the left.

A Kookaburra we saw in the Royal Botanical Gardens.

. . . and for your viewing pleasure.

Luck Be A Lady, Tonight!

A short ferry across the South China Sea deposited us in Macau.  The rather old, ex-Portuguese colony, which is now the Las Vegas of the East.  We only had a day to explore, so we ran around like mad-people, saw the famous Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral, an old fort, and more importantly the inside of a few casinos.

Luck was most certainly not a lady for us.  In fact, she was a dirty whore!

Videos of Lantau Island, Hong Kong, and The Bund, Shanghai.

Thought I'd post some videos from Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Lantau Island and The Big Buddha

We visited Lantau Island today along with its Big Buddha.  We had put it off for a couple of days due to the weather.  Riding a 25 minute cable car, in gale force winds, kinda freaks one out!  But, today the weather was as good as it was going to get.

We wandered around the misty mountain top, took a smoker's ramble to the top of the Buddha, then played a game of wave or die with passing cable cars on the way back.

Spent the day wandering the wet streets of Hong Kong.  We took the ferry across to Hong Kong Island, ventured up Victoria Peak, and ate and drank until we were merry.  Also, tomorrow marks two months of being jobless and homeless, yay us!

Wonderful view of a pair of knickers from our 5th floor window.

View, minus the knickers.

Bright lights, big city.

View of Hong Kong Island with bonus storm clouds approaching.

For good times, drink Tsingtao.

So, we arrived in Hong Kong last night after an epic day of travel.  We were supposed to get to Hong Kong in about 5 hours, but all of our planes were delayed, and what should of been 5 hours, took 18 hours.  Then our apartment wasn't ready and we had to spend the night at some random digs until today.

Our actual apartment is in a great location, right next to Temple Street Market, and central to just about everything.  Plus, here in Hong Kong I finally have access to my blog and photo programs - So I'll be able to update my blog an post photos on a regular basis.

So, on cue, here are some delayed pics of Shanghai:
